here’s what I believe about content, business, and showing up online

if you're new around here

Making time to think, imagine, create, and have fun is business work.

You don’t need to go viral to build a successful business.
You don’t need to sound “professional” to attract high-paying clients.
And you definitely don’t need to follow someone else’s rules to be taken seriously.

Strategy should feel good to you.
Your energy matters just as much as the plan.
Mindset and embodiment will always outwork overthinking.

I work with women who know they are the magic - even if they're still learning how to trust it.

Women who want an online presence that feels like them, supports their energy, and actually converts… without burning themselves out or losing their joy in the process.

If you’re done playing small, done forcing yourself into boxes that don’t fit, and ready to be seen, heard, and paid as your real-ass self, you’re in the right place.

“IlluminEssence Creations doesn’t just see a business. She sees the dreams, the vision, the purpose and is there to help make them all come true. I’ve also received many compliments about my website from other business owners.

Abby doesn’t change your voice or passion - she enhances it!”

- BJ Council, You & Five-O

"Abby is absolutely incredible!!! I love how responsive and detailed she is as a designer. I have worked with her on a few projects now and I have been pleased every step of the way! Abby is so talented and people continuously rave about everything she has done for me (branding, website, guides, etc.).

I love quality and that's what I think of when it comes to Abby!"

- Ariel Perry, Legacy Studios + Ariel Perry Photography

balanced by a great methodical approach to assess your current needs and focusing you on the essentials to help you gain meaningful traction. Said another way, Abby did a great job calming my social media anxiety, simplifying my approach and helping me to focus my attention.”

“Abby has such an easy, supportive vibe

- Carrie Baquie, Wellbeing Empowerment Coach

“So happy that I connected with Abby as a web developer! She's creative, knowledgeable, and possibly one of the most patient people I've had the pleasure to do business with. When I came to her with my website, I was midstream and she had to take over...often more difficult than starting from scratch. She was very skilled at listening to me and my desires and really put them into my site. I absolutely LOVE it! Communication was stellar and payment simple and understandable. She made the whole process as painless as possible for me!

Definitely, without reservations, I would recommend Abby for your website needs and dreams!”

- Tracy Gnojek, Neo-Tantra Educator

“Thank you so much Abby! You are great at what you do! I was having a hard time putting my thoughts, ideas and business package into words but you were able to! I highly recommend outsourcing your website and/or copywriting needs to IlluminEssence Creations as it will

save you time wasted and you'll be happy with your results.”

- Lily Butts, Books By Lily

“I partnered with IlluminEssence Creations to design my website and found Abby to be incredibly helpful and patient with the entire process. I ended up with a website I love and get many compliments on. I would definitely recommend IlluminEssence -

you won't be disappointed.”

For those who don't know me...

I'm abby

brand + web designer, content coach, and your bold biz bestie always down for a dance party

I grew up in a very artistic family - my parents are professional musicians that traveled the world to teach and perform - so creativity came very naturally to me and was encouraged. As a kid, I played three musical instruments, sang in choir, took art classes, played sports, and danced (my real love!). Once I got to high school, I focused my energy on dance, which led to me getting my BFA in Modern Dance at TCU (and dancing professionally for 5 years after college).

Although I’ve always loved dance, I knew it wouldn’t exactlyyyy pay the bills, so I looked for other creative outlets that could - and that’s how I ended up in the design world! In fact, when I was younger, I used to dream of working on a magazine one day. I originally got my design experience working on my high school and college yearbooks - as Editor-in-Chief for two years on each, as well as being a staff member and section editor - which I then turned into a freelance career of design and marketing, starting in college and running for almost 10 years, before eventually creating the business you see today!

During Covid, I was laid off from work (like everyone else), but the real hard hit was not being able to dance anymore. I went from working two jobs and dancing constantly to all of a sudden nothing. At first, I enjoyed the free time, but soon got tired of not being able to do creative work - and that's where the universe stepped in with more freelance opportunities than I'd had until that point. I loved it! But still subscribed to the "I need a real job" bullshit - so I applied to 100+ during 2021... jobs I was overqualified for, never heard back from, or just plain wasn't excited about.

SO. After almost a year of trying to do things the "normal" way, my husband (then my boyfriend of only a year+) encouraged me to do my own thing. I liked the idea but wasn't sure what that would look like, so I procrastinated on it and spun my wheels trying to find the "perfect" name for wayyy too long (LOL anyone else relate??). I finally took the leap on December 10, 2021 to not only start my own business but say YES to myself, my vision, and my fucking power and LIGHT that I had been dimming for years.

My business has grown and evolved over the years (we're on year 5 now!) - from a one-woman show to leading a team, back to a (much more intentional) one-woman show - but I couldn't imagine doing anything else. It truly lights my soul on FIRE to get to empower women in business to know that who they are - right now - is enough and deserves to be shared with the world.

At the end of 2024 I started my own podcast, and it's truly one of my favorite parts of my business now. My goal with this podcast is to share the authentic experiences of owning a business that you don’t always see online - the highs, the lows, and every spicy bit in-between. The conversations I get to have with other women business owners - or lead on my own in the solo eps - just light my soul on fireAnd they've been a source of inspiration and genuine connection during a tough year (for me and all of us). New episodes drop every Tuesday.
